Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record Breaking Tourism Entry Numbers United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of tourists from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from 2019.
"It is so exciting to witness a new rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers of 2019." said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism numbers each month. We are thrilled to see this positive shift and expect a steady upward trend for months and even years.
Canada which isn't too far behind that of the United States of America, is poised to surpass the tourist numbers to Israel. It had 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,000 in visitors in August.
"It is so exciting to see how the Canadian tourism to Israel is booming," said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019 and we expect that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more at home in Israel.
Israel has hosted more than 4.6million tourists in 2019, 969,600 of which came from the United States. Since May, when the country opened to all visitors regardless of vaccination status, more than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
