NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire• In July and August 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of tourists arriving from America. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4% rise over 2019, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country month after month. It's a fantastic positive shift that we are very happy about and anticipate an upward trajectory for years to come."
In line with in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourism numbers in Israel by 7,200 tourists in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that "it's thrilling to observe how tourism in Canada is recovering." We're close to reaching our record numbers for 2019 and we expect that this growth in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more at ease abroad.
In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million international tourists, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since the country's official opening to any traveler regardless of vaccination status in May of this year, the country has already received more than 600,400 US visitors.
